Introduce
Even as recently as a few years ago, there were very few people who had heard about drones. This was because the development of drone technology had been led mainly for military purposes.
In recent years, however, as drone technology and related industries have expanded to the private sector, a broad range of the population, including those in media filming, personal filming, construction surveying, atmospheric measurement, transmission tower
inspection, wind power plant inspection, pesticide spraying, drone racing, and hobby drones, as well as organizations, have become interested in drones. In addition, drone technology and related industries have seen explosive growth and development.
However, despite the rapid development of the drone industry and related technologies today, analysts say that the reasons that drones have not been practically used are due to various regulations, because either the rules or promises of drones flying safely have not been established, or the speed with which institutional rules are made is slow.
At the same time, it is understandable that it takes some period of time for the enactment of such regulations and related rules (laws) as well as time for social consensus of such technology. This is because in addition to the importance of privacy, military security, national security, and various other issues, the most critical issue surrounding drones is that they are directly linked to human life and safety, such as in examples of collisions with aircrafts or drone crashes during flight. That is why countries are creating regulatory frameworks at a relatively tedious pace while gradually easing existing rules.
Therefore, the PATHHIVE team, after countless hours, has deeply contemplated and researched how we can solve such issues, even before the team was formed, and after being able to specify the study, we would like to disclose the conclusions of our study via this whitepaper.
